Commercial HVAC in Hayden

We repair, replace and look after heating and cooling for small businesses: rooftop units, split systems and the controls that run them. You get a written quote before any work begins, and the fittings, seals and wiring are done so the equipment keeps running.

Steady comfort for your staff and customers

When the heat fails at a shop or office, the cost shows up fast. Diners leave a warm room early, employees work in coats, and inventory in a stuffy storeroom can go bad. Our commercial work centers on the equipment most small buildings around here depend on: gas-fired rooftop units and split systems for retail, restaurants, offices and light industrial spaces.

Many of the commercial failures we're called to trace back to something small that got skipped. A dried-out condensate trap. A curb gasket letting rain into the cabinet. A loose lug at the disconnect, or a thermostat that runs the unit through the night. We check those things on every visit, because they decide how long a repair or a new unit actually lasts.

Some breakdowns won't wait for business hours. Our 24/7 emergency HVAC repair covers those late nights and weekends, and your invoice carries no emergency or after-hours fees.

What our commercial work covers

Rooftop unit repair
We track down and fix faults in packaged rooftop units, including worn inducer motors, cracked igniters, failed contactors and compressor trouble. The diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair.
Replacing worn-out units
Once repairs stop making sense, we size the new equipment to your square footage, occupancy and hours rather than copying the old nameplate. Estimates are free on installations and replacements.
Curb, gas and condensate details
Each install gets a sealed roof curb, a proper drip leg on the gas line and a condensate drain pitched to a working trap. Those steps keep water out of your ceiling and keep the burner lighting cleanly.
Controls and scheduling
We program thermostats around the hours you're actually open, so you aren't paying to heat an empty space overnight or on your day off.
Seasonal service
Filters, belts, coil cleaning and a burner inspection ahead of each heating and cooling season. The Maintenance Plans page has more on what's included.

Signs your commercial system is struggling

  • Uneven temperatures

The front counter is fine but the back office is freezing, or the reverse. Short-cycling, a weak blower or controls set wrong are the usual causes.

  • Stained ceiling tiles

Water marks below a rooftop unit tend to mean a clogged condensate line or a curb seal that has failed. Fixing it early protects the tiles and the insulation above them.

  • Utility bills rising

Dirty coils, a slipping belt or an economizer damper stuck open can raise your bill for months while the unit still seems to work.

  • Odd smells

A brief burning smell on the first cold day is often just dust. If it hangs around, have it checked. A musty smell usually points to water sitting in the drain pan.

  • Staff keep resetting it

If employees regularly flip a breaker or restart the thermostat to get heat back, the unit is locking out for a reason. Better to find it now than during your busiest week.

What to expect from a commercial visit

  1. 1

    A quick phone conversation

Let us know the symptoms, how many units serve the building and the best window for us to come by. We'll fit the visit around your schedule.

  2. 2

    Finding the cause

On site we look at the unit, its controls and the power feeding it. Then we walk you through what failed and why, without jargon.

  3. 3

    Written quote before work

A written quote comes before any work begins, so you can sign off yourself or pass it to the building owner first. The invoice matches what you approved.

  4. 4

    Work, testing and cleanup

After the repair or install, we run heating and cooling in every mode, check gas pressure and confirm the drain runs freely. The roof and the space underneath are cleaned up before we go.

What drives the cost of commercial HVAC

No two commercial buildings are set up the same way, so we quote after we've seen yours. The written quote breaks out parts, labor and any extra steps your site calls for.

Unit size and type
Servicing or replacing a small office split system costs less than working on a large rooftop unit over a warehouse floor. Both tonnage and the number of units count.
Roof access
Equipment we can reach by ladder is quicker to handle than a unit that needs a crane or lift to swap out. Winter snow on the roof can add time too.
Condition of the curb and wiring
A rotted curb or a disconnect too small for the new unit has to be addressed for the install to hold up. We'll show you photos of what we find.
Permits and inspections
Most replacements need a mechanical permit and inspection. Those fees are included in your quote.

Commercial HVAC questions

Something not covered here? (208) 834-9366

Can you work around our business hours?

Yes. We plan repairs and replacements for the times that least affect your customers and staff. A lot of rooftop work can happen while you stay open, since most of it takes place up on the roof.

Is a Saturday night breakdown billed differently?

It isn't. A rooftop unit that quits late on a weekend is priced the same way as one that fails on a Tuesday afternoon, because there are no emergency or after-hours fees. That's why our 24/7 emergency HVAC repair works for restaurants and shops that can't sit cold until Monday.

Is it worth repairing an old rooftop unit?

It depends on what's failing. If the heat exchanger and compressor are in good shape, a repair can give you several more solid years. If the unit needs a major part and is near the end of its life, we'll say so plainly and give you a free estimate on replacement so you can compare.

Do you work on buildings outside Hayden?

Yes. Along with Hayden, we serve businesses in Coeur d'Alene, Rathdrum and Post Falls. The Service Areas page lists the rest of the towns we cover.

Can you set up regular maintenance for our units?

We can. Service twice a year, before heating and cooling seasons, catches worn belts, dirty coils and drain clogs before they shut you down. Ask when you call and we'll go over what suits your building.
